Cultural Side of Islam | Eight Lectures on the Causes of Rise and Decline of Islamic Culture

Cultural Side of Islam is a compilation of eight scholarly lectures delivered in Chennai (Madras) India, in 1926 by Mohammad Marmaduke Pickthall, as part of the famous “Madras Lectures on Islam” series.

Mohammad Marmaduke Pickthall, better known for his English translation of the Holy Quran, was born in a Christian family and later, after deep study, embraced Islam and spent a number of years in India in the service of the erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad. In these lectures, he gave a graphic picture of different aspects of Islamic culture and establishes its superiority over Western Culture.
